Nujaba to Be A Player in Campaign for Golan Heights: Think Tank
According to the Communication and Media Affairs Center of al-Nujaba in Iran, the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT) at the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya, a Zionist think tank, published a report by Michael Barak in which he described al-Nujaba Islamic Resistance Movement’s publication of the book “The Importance of the Golan Heights from the Perspective of Israel’s Security and Its Survival” as a sign of the movement’s determination to participate in a future campaign against Israel.
By choosing the title “The al-Nujaba Militia as a ‘Sixth Player’ in a Future Campaign for the Golan Heights,” the think tank has stated, “The ceremony held by the al-Nujaba movement at the Office of the President of Iran to launch the book was, on one hand, a kind of psychological war against Israel and, on the other hand, points to the importance Iran attributes to al-Nujaba as an auxiliary force in a future war for the Golan Heights.”
The Interdisciplinary Centre Herzliya, while emphasizing the strong connection of the al-Nujaba movement with the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Syrian government, noted, “Shaykh Akram al-Kaabi, the secretary-general of al-Nujaba, sent his forces to fight Daesh in Iraq and Syria in ۲۰۱۳. In ۲۰۱۷, he formed the Golan Liberation Brigade to take part in the conquest of the region and announced that he would stand by Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Syrian army in the event of an Israeli attack.”
The report goes on to mention the presence of high-ranking personalities, including advisers to the Supreme Leader and President of Iran, the ambassadors of Syria and Palestine, as well as representatives of Palestinian Islamic Resistance groups at the book launch ceremony and said, “The ceremony symbolically took place on the day Israel occupied the Golan Heights. Speakers at the ceremony also reaffirmed their commitment to the recapture of the Golan Heights, the fact that the region belongs to Syria and its vital and strategic importance to Israel.”
The Interdisciplinary Centre Herzliya also referred to the official website of the al-Nujaba in Hebrew, adding, “It must be noted that in addition to this book launch ceremony, al-Nujaba has also released two Hebrew-language clips on the subject of its commitment to participate in the liberation operation in the Golan Heights.”
The aforementioned report also examined the interview of the spokesman of the al-Nujaba Islamic Resistance Movement with the Lebanese news agency al-Ahed News and quoted Nasr al-Shammari, saying, “The Golan Liberation Brigade is ready to be deployed in the Golan Heights with elite and well-trained forces as well as weapons that can target the depths of occupied Palestine. The response to Israel must take place throughout the region, and in addition to Israel, we must strike at the United States and its mercenaries, so that the deterrent power of the Islamic Resistance is greater and more pervasive.”
The source mentioned, “Provocative activities such as the use of threat literature, the launch of a book about the Golan Heights or the vulnerability of Israeli coastal cities without Israeli control of the Golan Heights are meant to send the Israeli leadership a message saying that in the coming war, all fronts of the Islamic Resistance will be activated, from the Gaza Strip and Lebanon and Syria to Iraq and Yemen.”
The Zionist institute has warned, “In the recent war, al-Nujaba was content with psychological operations and verbal support for the Palestinians but we must not underestimate the readiness and motivation of this Iraqi movement, as well as the aid it received from Iran for further movements in the Golan Heights.”
At the end of the report by The Interdisciplinary Centre Herzliya, the threatening positions of the al-Nujaba movement are described as in line with Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah’s new strategy of creating new equations after Operation Sword of al-Quds (a response to any aggression against al-Quds and its inhabitants).
It is worth mentioning that the book launch ceremony for “The Importance of the Golan Heights from the Perspective of Israel’s Security and Its Survival” by Ali Shakir was held by the Committee for the Support of the Islamic Revolution of the Palestinian People and the Abna al-Rasul Institute at the Office of the President of Iran in Tehran on Wednesday, June ۹, which coincided with the ۵۴th anniversary of the occupation of the Golan Heights.
